Human Resources Generalist

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with other members of the HR team supporting the overall mission of the organization as the premium manufacturer of carbon graphite materials. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: onboarding, benefits administration, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.
Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
Monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees.
Maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; and maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, conducts new-employee orientations, writes and places advertisements.
Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
Maintains employee directory.
Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong organizational skills
Flexible and self-motivated
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively
Maintain a high level of confidentiality
Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
5 years experience
Knowledge of all employment laws, EEOC, Affirmative Action, ADA, FLSA, FMLA, PFL
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
Strong understanding of HRIS application

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
