Professional Engineer 1 (Electrical)

## Minimum Qualifications
Current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55b/c service as a Professional Engineer 1 (Electrical); OR current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service in a position allocated to a salary grade 24 and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 as appropriate of the Civil Service Law.
Possession of a NYS Professional Engineer?s license with current registration is required.

In addition, an applicant eligible for 70.1 transfer via GOT-IT is required to meet the minimum qualifications listed below to be considered.

Additional Minimum Qualifications for 55b/c and/or 70.1 Transfer Candidates:
A New York State Professional Engineer?s license and current registration:
a bachelor?s degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or Engineering Science with a recognized concentration in any of the above listed engineering degrees;
one year of engineering experience in electrical systems. ## Duties Description
Duties include but may not be limited to:
Coordinate and supervise complex electrical engineering design projects.
Designate type of electrical system to be used for projects.
Assign, supervise and check the design work of subordinates.
Coordinate work with other disciplines: architectural, mechanical and estimating.
Prepare specifications and review shop drawings, change orders and contract documents.
May supervise consultant staff.
Some travel required. ## Additional Comments

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
